Masala!Mehndi!Masti! (M!M!M!) meaning Spice! Henna! Fun! is the largest and most spectacular inter-disciplinary South Asian Music and Arts Festival outside of South Asia. This grandiose free event, that takes place annually in Toronto over a fabulous 3 day period, exhibits the best in local and international South Asian and South Asian inspired talent in music, fashion, dance, theatre, film, visual arts and crafts, literary works, yoga, social issues and more. It brings together professionals and performers from across Canada and all over the world including Australia, Bangladesh, India, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Trinidad, UK and the US.
In the recent past, internationally acclaimed actors such as Ms. Nandita Das and Mr. Rahul Bose (both Toronto International Film Festival regulars) along with globally famed music artists like “Indian Ocean” , Karsh Kale, Josh, Deesha, Bilz and Kashif, have graced this sensational festival. This huge event also displays colourful kiosks offering taste-bud tantalizing culinary delights, exotic apparel and dazzling jewelry. Mehndi (henna) artists are also on hand to satisfy the attending public’s fancies. Each year, between 60,000 to 100,000 visitors of all nationalities from every corner of the world are mesmerized by its immensity and intensity.
