TORONTO, January 23, 2009 - If you love to laugh, you'll be super-sweet on No Sweetheart Required this February - a night of short and sassy comedies about love, or the lack thereof - presented Upstairs at Whistler's Grille and Cafe, 995 Broadview Avenue at Pottery Road, from February 10 - 14, 2009 at 8 p.m. This is a budget-conscious way to celebrate Valentine's week - and you don't even NEED a Valentine to have fun at No Sweetheart Required. Bring your mother, your friend, your co-worker or even that special someone to an evening of short comedies that are good for the soul and easy on the wallet! Plays featured this year include “The Tip”, an hilarious piece by Kathryn Malek and featuring Dave Lapsley, the star of the Canadian theatrical hit, “Defending The Caveman”. Other offerings include the witty “Encagement” directed by Nancy Bradshaw, the whimsical “One Wish” directed by MC Thompson and “Wallflower Maggie”, a sweet look at the generation gap, directed by Blake Thorne. Also featured in this year's show are a one-woman presentation by comedienne June Morrow and a fabulous dance piece by Event Horizon Dance (Miranda Abbott and Libydo).
